The year 2000 marked our Ruby (40th) anniversary. Steve Davis and Larry Bolen were Judges. Ginny Wickham Brown was the winner of our Mike Hens Award. Homespun Top Note owned by Wallace and Dorothy Holmes won the NY Stallion Weanlings Sweepstakes class at the show. Heyday Molly Stark is the Sweepstakes Pleasure Saddle winner, and Kandle’s Cadence is the Park Saddle winner. The NY Futurity Alumni Western Pleasure winner was HD St. Regis a W.H. Miner entry. In 2001 it’s the dedication of the show staff and exhibitors that keep things moving after the tragic events of the Twin Towers September 11 collapse. With people on their way to the show (which started September 12th) those there made sure that things were in order and ready for their arrival. Calvin Hanson and Tim Morrell stepped in to judge. | Three hundred and forty horses showed up for our 2002 show. Tim O’Gorman was one of our Judges. Nancy Galusha’s MNM High Caliber won the Gelding Junior Championship. Annette Bakic and Fortress Initial were a sight to see in Third Level Dressage. In a fun “sit-a-buck” competition, Adam Atkinson came out on top. Simply Maserati was our Amateur Park Harness winner. | In 2003 Conky Price and Terry Jones Brennen judged. There were 235 classes and 334 horses. Our NYSMHS Futurity Yearling Champion was Cum Laude Nell owned by Diane Garrow. Equinox Wild Card and Susan Evans were our Classic Pleasure Driving Open Champions. Jacquie Qua was the winner of the Mike Hens Award and a special tribute was given to Fred Herrick for his years of dedication to the training and breeding of the Morgan horse. Show results here |
| Our 2004 show was dedicated to the memory of Joan Sackett, past President of the NYSMHS. It was at this time that we returned to being one of the AMHA “Regional” shows. Tami Johnson, Garn Walker, Valerie Knight and John Wicks judged. Born to Boogie was our Grand Champion Stallion. Trebels Double Exposure owned by Gullwing Farm was our Classic In Hand and Specialty In Hand Champion. Our Amateur Pleasure Driving Champion was MFM in Disguise with Eleanor Hutcheson. Chandelle High Tiger Hawk and Elizabeth Squier were our Carriage Pleasure Driving Turnout winners. Show results here |
| Cathy Grimes, and Richard Boule helped with Judging the 2005 show. Our English Pleasure Champion was E B Go Lightly owned by Mary Meixell and shown by her daughter Sarah. Carol Rog rode Equinox Renaissance to the Hunter Pleasure Amateur Championship. The Park Saddle Champion was Dar Vale Savannah ridden by Sandra Trushel. Sandy also rode Hollybrook Starconnection to the win in the Western Pleasure Championship. Show results here |
| In 2006 Jane Blue, Larry Bolen and John McDonald Judged at the show we called “The Toast of New York.” Our In-Hand winners included March Madness, U-Two, Heilwood Angelique, Anna Nicole, RJMF Symphonic Music, Seaway Smart Alex and Northern marksman among many others. There were 16 entries in the NY Sweepstakes Weanling class and it was Stephen Smith’s Ultra’s Serendipity that took home the check for $3,378. The NYSMHS Member English Pleasure class was won by Hartland Best Man. On Delawares Night Life, Stephanie Shearer scored a one-two punch winning both the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Championship and the Amateur Western Pleasure Championship. When you talk about longevity, it was the 18 year old Preach To Me, owned and shown by Jamie McNally that won the Hunter Hack, Hunter Hack Under Saddle and Bridle Path Hack classes to earn the Hunter Hack High Point award. And another familiar face – Sue Coleman won the Road Hack Championship with Wales Farm Debonair. Show results here |
