Wendy had to laugh when I asked her how she first got involved in horses.  Her Mother recommended riding lessons as an activity that she might enjoy and Wendy remembers saying "Why would I want to do THAT..."

Then after a move to Upstate New York, a father's promise to the three daughters led to a horse for each girl.  Not long after, during a trip to Ringtown Pennsylvania  a connection with Mrs. Marilyn Childs was made and Wendy was allowed to stay for a weeks worth of riding lessons.  It was also around that time that the Weber family purchased the mare Figurine (Upwey King Merrymaid x Cornwallis) in foal to Lippitt Mandate.

After the week of lessons, Wendy participated in her first show - the Mid-Atlantic Morgan Horse Show, riding the Childs horses.

Listen to Wendy tell the story of Dolly her first horse and how it all began...
