On April 14th, 2007 Curt Smith passed away.  We've included his obituary here.  He will be greatly missed.

It was the first week in November when I had the opportunity to sit with Curt Smith, his two lovely daughters Sherry and Valerie, and Arlene; his faithful friend that had orchestrated the visit.

Although Curt didn't have a long list of Morgans that he'd bred, nor did he win Championships at The National, he was a key contributor in the early days of our Club.  Curt was there for all of the meetings and tirelessly worked to make sure that the club grew, and that those who participated realized the benefit of being a member.

One of the great things about meeting with Curt, and something that brings a smile to his daughter's faces, is his habit of  "crossing all of the t's and dotting the i's."  The materials that he's saved over the years allow us to look back and in a factual way realize how things were.

On the following pages of Curt's scrapbook you be able to view a ledger of facts and figures that Curt compiled on the first New York Morgan Show in 1960.

You'll be able to hear him re-tell a very funny story about his attempts to boost the number of entries over 100!

Curt will share with you his wonderful experience with Michael Landon - and about how Michael performed with Curt's Morgan at the local Circus.

All wonderful memories that Curt was happy to share with us.

Another example of the fantastic people that make up our New York State Morgan Horse Society, from then to now.
