Upon graduating from High School, Fred moved on the the University of New Hampshire, where later he received his degree from the Thompson School of Agriculture. It was around then that he was offered a job in Avon, CT at a boys school. After about a year Fred says that it was there that he “heard from a friend, who had heard from another friend” that there “might be” a trainer position coming open at Ardencarple Acres in Mt. Kisco, NY. Owned by Willard and Mimi Denton (Willard was the President of the Manhattan Savings Bank) the Dentons had recently purchased some Morgans. Truthfully, some REALLY nice Morgans.
