As Jeanne says, “it’s amazing how all the little things fell into place…it’s unbelievable…it really is.” When we last left our story a young Fred & Jeanne had moved from Ted Davis’s Wind-Crest farm to train for Gordon Voorhis of Applevale.   The plan was to breed as Fred says “good looking Morgans” and in the early days foals were named after New York state towns (Kingston, Schenectady, Tarrytown…) After running out of town names they liked, and as the farm was surrounded by apple orchards, the prefix Applevale was used. |
