Voorhis, Fred and Jeanne clicked, with Fred training and Jeanne (although not on the payroll as she wanted the freedom to pursue her own endeavors) handling the advertising.  Open any Morgan Horse Magazine from those years (1955-1969) and you’re likely to see one of the farm ads created by Jeanne on the inside front cover.

It was during this time that Jeanne first published her book "The Morgan Horse" a book with more than 100 illustrations, rare engravings and photographs, many of the illustrations portraits by the author-  This was followed in 1974 with "The Morgan Horse Handbook" which included ideals of type and action, faults and correction in photographs including over 144 how-to drawings by the author.

Jeanne recalls that when arriving at Voorhis’s farm Gordon said “you let me know what we need and we’ll make a success out of it.”

Fred remembers “Gordon Voorhis liked to win,…and I liked to win.” so they were a good match.
