Willard started out with "Tony" a non-Morgan and then purchased a half morgan from the Caccamis family for the Hoefen children. Elchem was the first registered Morgan on the Hoefen farm. He was foaled in 1942 by Justinian out of Janee. Janee was a Jubliee King daughter owned by Pete Hess. She was also the dam of Sealect of Wind-Crest and Ledgewood Pecora.
