New York Regional Show Update

The 51st New York Morgan Regional Championship Show was a huge success! The horse count was 352, up a couple from last year, and the classes were deep and very competitive. The Show ended up well in the black for income, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, exhibitors and a very hard working committee, as well as a conscientious show management.

As you may remember, we agreed to make a donation to an Armed Services Group in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11/2001. We agreed that the show would match the income from the barn consignment sale. I’m delighted to report that Val Low and her crew made $481 at the barn sale for the show and the show committee agreed to match it and in fact round up the total donation to $1000. The charity the committee selected is the Wounded Warrior Project, and a check went out to them this week. See the information on the bottom of this note for some information. If you want more information on this project, you can go to www.woundedwarriorproject.org

The committee is working on an outline of the prize list for next year, based on some recommendations from exhibitors. The changes are primarily to the time slots, and not major class offering changes. The committee has also voted on judges for the 2012 show, and the top picks will be contacted to check their interest and availability. I hope we will be able to tell you who the judges are at the year end meeting and banquet.

It was a pleasure to work with the committee this year, and a huge thank you to all of you who worked so hard thru the year and at the show. The show doesn’t come together in a week, but takes lots of hours and planning all year, and this year’s committee did a great job! Thank you!

To our Exhibitors and Sponsors, Thank You as well, for your attendance, your support and your continued allegiance to the New York Morgan Regional Championship Show! We hope your support continues for the 2012 show, so mark your calendars now and save the dates…..
September 12-15, 2012.
