The NYSMHS Breeders Futurity

Our NYSMHS Futurity dates back to 1959 and you can read all about our history in the article at this link.  Another document offers a comprehensive listing of all past futurity winners dating back to the beginning of the program.  You may download that here.

 

Classes for Futurity participants are held at the New York Morgan Regional and include both halter and performance opportunities. Uniquely, the New York Breeder's Futurity offers substantial paybacks for the original nominators as well.

 

Participants in the futurity program are eligible for participation in the Futurity High Score Trophy (for graduating three year olds.)

2015 Futurity report

There were 22 graduates of the Futurity program, now eligible for the Alumni program. Ten of the graduates were shown at the NY Morgan show from 2012 to 2015.

 

This year 12 horses participated in the Futurity In Hand Division at the NY Morgan show. There were 11 horses shown in the Alumni classes. Over $2300 was given out in prize money to those who showed.

 

25 weanlings were nominated in 2015.

 

This year’s Futurity Champion is ADC Man on Fire, owned by Alex and Deborah Cojacar, Graystone Morgans, Great Meadows, NJ. He sired by Man in Motion and out of Alphastar Exotic Dancer. The Res. Champion is Little Acres Whisper Dan, he was nominated by John Aubin and is owned  by Katelyn Jenkins, Rockport, MA. This colt is sired by Whispering in the Wind  and out of Willow Manor Village Dance.
